It allows them to live, work and move freely within the Schengen Area, and acts as a gateway to Portugal and Europe. <br\/><br\/>Since October 2023, the purchase of real estate is no longer eligible for new applications. The program is now valid for strategic investments in the economy, culture, science and employment. <\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligible investments:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Venture capital and investment funds: minimum of \u20ac500,000, with at least 60% in Portuguese companies.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Commercial company: \u20ac500,000 to create or strengthen a company, creating 5 permanent jobs or maintaining 10 jobs (5 permanent).<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Cultural project: investment of \u20ac250,000 in projects certified by the Ministry of Culture.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Job creation: at least 10 new jobs.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scientific research: \u20ac500,000 in government-certified projects.<br\/><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Note:<\/em> Investments in areas of low population density benefit from a 20% reduction in the minimum values.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br\/>Requirements and conditions:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Maintain the investment for at least 5 years.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stay in Portugal for at least 7 days a year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>No criminal convictions, restrictions in the Schengen system or public security reasons.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite the changes to the legislation, the Golden Visa scheme is still in force and new applications can still be made.<br\/><br\/>Applying for a Golden Visa involves complex decisions that require legal rigor and close monitoring at every stage.
